Help! I'm trapped in OSX and I can't get out!
I used Acronis Disk Director 10 to make a 20 gig partition for OSX. I installed it, and things went great. Then, I try to go to Windows, but there is no dual-boot option at startup! It just goes to OSX! Also, if I put the OSX DVD in and set the CD to be the first bootup option, Acronis asks me if I want to install what's on the DVD. It also provides an option to go to which volume I want to boot from, and guess what! OSX IS THE ONLY ONE!!!
Don't get me wrong, the brushed metal interface and extremely confusing "Terminal" with a crippled set of commands is really cool, but I want to go back to a usable operating system.

I don't see how that's relevant to his problem.DWells55 wrote:OSX86 gone wrong?
Just because you don't understand OS X doesn't make it a bad OS.
That too.Alchemist666 wrote:run it for a month and you will likei t >_>
This topic isn't about his dislike for the OS, it's about his problems with getting back to his original.
LISTEN TO ME I AM TRYING TO INSTALL AN AUDIO DRIVER FOR A DEVICE THAT IS EXTREMELY COMMON (AC97) AND APPLE HAS *NO* NATIVE SUPPORT FOR IT AND INSTALLING IT MANUALLY THROUGH TERMINAL IS LIKE MAKING NARKER TYPE WITHOUT CAPS LOCKDWells55 wrote:OSX86 gone wrong?

I am very angry. And yes, OSX86 gone terribly, terribly wrong. I'm thinking iGeo's method is what I'm going to end up doing. ='(
Any other suggestions?

What the fuck are you using the terminal for anyway? I've used it seriously only 4 times in the past 5 years. BLASPHEMER!
Only serious hardcore UNIX masters use the Terminal often.
And yeah, if you hold down the option or control keys it might give you the option to select your startup disk... that's how the intel macs do it when switching from OSX to XP or vice versa. Something like that (go google it!)
