Yahoo! E-Mail Sucks

Post by RaVNzCRoFT »

I created a Yahoo! email account a few weeks ago to see how much spam I could get it to accumulate. By observing the works of this extremely scientific experiment, I have discovered that Yahoo's spamblock system is crap.

That is all.

I use NC Roadrunner, since I don't like internet e-mail very much. For example, you can't do anything with an internet e-mail system if your internet is down. With a browser e-mail system, at least you can view contacts and stuff if you can't send or receive mail.

I'm not questioning Yahoo's resistance to spam mailing, I'm questioning Yahoo's ability to detect spam and to section it off. This shows that for every seven spam messages, only five of those messages will be detected and moved to the Bulk folder. That's pretty bad. :o

I believe you photoshoped that picture because I use to have three yahoo accounts and I have never nearly had that much spam. I don't use yahoo anymore. But I could never be too sure because it's Yahoo...

Anything unbelieveable to you MUST be a photoshop, what else could it be?

Depending on what you name your account is going to determine how much spam you get. If you just put your name like chris@yahoo.com, then you are likely to get spam, but if you put something like chri55908@yahoo.com, you're going to get less.
I get thousands of emails as well because of my simple name, and yahoo does indeed, suck.

I've been trying to get thunderbird to act as a mail server for my gmail account (yet to get that working). I use my yahoo accounts for activating forum accounts. And I also use my yahoo accounts with people that I know just want to send me spam, crap, and useless mail.

I like Gmail. If you need an invite I'd be happy to send one to you.

My phone Syncs with my email, so my spam blocker does let some through, so every time it does, it pings on my phone. I gave up on my yahoo account a long time ago

i don't recommend using email provided by your ISP, cause if you switch ISPs, you're email is lost. Gmail ftw, if you don't have it get it.

Also gmail has 2.5 gigs of storage.
