Xbox 360 v2
Xbox 360 v2
Well, the new 360 is already been built, and it's got an HDMI port and 120GB hard drive. And from the looks of it, we'll never see HDMI/DVI support on the current 360 models, because Microsoft had to use a new HANA scaler to replace the current models ANA scaler.

Needless to say, as someone who waited 18 hours in the rain for the first Xbox 360, I'm a bit pissed off, as I really needed HDMI support.

VG is right with that link. Technology is what it is, it becomes obsolete quickly. This won't make me run out and get one when they come to stores any quicker, but it's nice, considering my cheap HDTV actually has a HDMI port.
theycallmechad: The processors are the same specifications as the first revisions, except the CPU is manufactured at 65nm. Less power consumption (albeit slight) = yum. Game developers would also probably be hesitant to build games for the new 360s if they were more powerful. They'd have a slight boost that would be great with a new game, but that same game would run a bit slower on the Rev A 360.

So why couldnt they include HDMI on the 36d HDDVDD player?
It hardly affects me as I don't have a HDTV yet and since Australia doesnt have the full XBL V marketplace, its not a bad issue there either.
However, if it is true, then I find it to be a poor move by Microsoft. HDMI wasn't demanded by people who hadn't bought a 360 already, it was demanded by their fans, the people who had already paid for a 360 and to make them, the people who wanted it in the first place have to buy/replace/trade their old 360 for the newer one is just stupid.
It honestly sounds like a Sony styled move in that "Because we're microsoft and we're the leader, people will want to pay extra for the new system so we still win"
but I doubt that is the reality
This is also their chance to put the HDDVD as standard...But that will annoy everyone more than anything

Yeah, I doubt it as well...it's just the advancement of technology. If they can afford to do it, I think they should.ScottyGEE wrote:"Because we're microsoft and we're the leader, people will want to pay extra for the new system so we still win"

Also, iGeo, did your keyboard die or something? Your spelling jumped out the window.

I don't feel the need for HDMI, and the only reason for a 120gb HDD is if you get a LOT of downloadable content, movies, demos, and videos.
I usually delete demos after I get the game or if I don't like the game. As for videos...I just delete them after I've watched them a couple times. I still have plenty of space left on my hard drive.
