2 Free Halo3 Models!! By Me! ^_^

Modeled off of the Large Halo3 screenshot containing the grenadee (see it flying in the air), and a tiny image from the EGM magazine. I ZOOMED in as close I could to count the H3's modedl's faces. The lightng made this difficult. It might have a (very) few less facecs then my model though.
I got as close as I could to the screenshot. Hope it's useable. The model is in 3DS formate and has NO textures. I haven't learned how to add textures yet. >_< There hasn't been any good size referances for this grenade yet. But sincee it's for a Brute, I'm guessing it's one handed thrown, and a bit heavy. Desineed to stick to EVERYTHING except water. It has a short fuse similar to Halo2's Frag grenade. When dectinated, it shoots out a large cone of spikes with the point of the cone faceing the grenade itself. According to Bungie, you CAN stand directly beside it (while on a door or wall) and NOT get hurt.

Halo3 Flag

Dontu made a Halo3 flag and put it up for all. I finally got my hands on it. I noticed that it wasn't a true model. I'm guessing that's because he only had a SMALL Halo3 referancec image for referance.
Well, since then, Bungie's released a Large detailed version of the same screen shot. So I went ahead and modeled it to match the game better.
I did however re-use Skull and leaf from Dontu's model. didn't see a reason to re-model it since it's pretty much the same.

I have no site to host the file, so if anyone want's it, let me know with your E-mail address (PM).
I'll be included with the Halo Map I'm working on. Just a note to those that plan to help with that project. ^_^

The brute granade will be very cool w/ a good physics model. What are the errors on the flag? (I can't run it through tool here at school)

I was thinking about that this morning.
Until you, no one had tested it in the engine or tool.
The flag consist of 5-6 different meshs. My guess is that because of the actural flag part intersecting the pole's mesh, it's causeing the errors.
I'll fix that now by removing a few verticals and faces. There'll be a few less polys, but it'll look the same.
I'll make sure NONE of the meshs touch one another. It should still load as a single object (I hope), but will still contain 4 meshs (and no more).
Take note, the NEW download will NOT contain the flag textures and will solely a 3DS file.
Oh and BTW, In Blender I had to give the Flag Mesh (not the pole) a "Box" material to get the image to come out right on the model. No ideea how it'll work in the game though.
My PC can't handle the Halo game. >_<

lol bad luck for you but what am i to say. my computer has the minimium requirement(and i mean minimium) but great job but the brute spike nade is a rough size of 2 brute hands stacked ontop of ea other.

No kidding. Even worse since I'm making a Halo:CE map as well. >_<

Anyway, As I said above ( I think I mentioned it) I used the Skull and Leaf from the original Halo Flag to prevent haveing to re-model it. Unfortaintly, While editing the flag just now, I learned that Bungie uses a TON of verticals and overlapes them instead of simply using less and making multiple faces with a single Vertical connecting them. This added to fustration when I edited it. I tried fixing some of them but there are just TOO MANY.
So to get the pole to pass through the leaf, and into (just below) the skull, I HAD TO add more verticals and move them. It doesn't look good up close, but that area isn't really seen much in the game. Unless you focus on it of course. :?
I also fix the actural flag itself. MUCH easier to do since I made it. The Flag mesh hovers JUST off of the pole's flag supports.
I can NOW officially say that not a single mesh of the model is touching another. So if your still get errors, blame bungie for overlapping verticals.
Feel free to try and fix it if errors continue. I know it's not my fault. :P
