No, I said they're not more accessible. Children should be asleep at that time. If they're old enough to know how to work a TV, and to find the shows on Comedy Central to their humour, then they would already know the eff word, so it's not such a big deal is it.

No, I said they're not more accessible.
You never said that. You said "No" to my question "Are they not just as easily accessible to children as the rest of the day?" You didn't signify if you meant that in a positive or negative manner. Anyhow, the age of the viewers isn't important. What is, is the fact that they only censor a portion of the day. Why would you censor at all if you didn't care about whomever hears it. It is not impossible for a child to hear that during the hours it is available.

It doesn't really surprise me that a lot of American stuff is censored, no offence but much of your country seem oblivious to what is happening in the rest of the world... a good example of this being my vacation to California in the summer, two days before I was leaving to go home, there was a large terrorist threat at one of the major london airports, whereby British Intelligence thwarted terrorists from taking down planes over the Atlantic with both American and British citizens on board. Now, during this even, on CNN, they covered the terror threats for less then 2 minutes, and continued the news show covering a story about a man that found a 3" rock in a river that resembled jesus... oh and a party for people to dress up their dogs. None of this is a joke. You're censorship needs to be sorted IMO, but then you guys know it more than me, so ultimatley my say has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, Dubya has this thing...he seems to think that if any terrorist threat or anything is broadcast when it happens, then the terrorists will think they've won. For some hilarious neo-conservative American bullcrap, go here. Sometimes I feel embarassed to be associated with these people by nationality.

Like it or not, the very little censorship that we have in America isn't all that bad...

Look at China, where WikiPedia was blocked. Look at Australia where certain video games are out of the picture just because of their content. There's still a lot of free speech in this country and we're lucky to have it.

Offtopic, my principal says that our school motto should be "I am thankful for what I have, because I am lucky I get anything at all". We're a low budget charter school :P

So Mr. Maverick, if censoring daytime TV alone isn't good enough for you, what do you suggest?

there is one aspect of cencorship in america you forgot, the fact that americans will do anything for money. Think about it, what is an easy way to get money, dont cencor something and get it tons of poplicity for being bad. Just look at GTA.

In Edmonton, Alberta, the economy is booming. Last I heard, Burger King pays at $18 and hour to start. Candian dollars, but still.

$18/hour for fast food isn't that bad...I get $10/hour (American) coding/designing, and I thought that was a lot.

Well, in my opinion, it's freedom of speech, and according to my last year's 8th grade history skillz, it's in the constitution. If you don't like what's on TV, don't watch it. I'm sure most of you have seen the commercials for the V-chip. If parents don't want there children watching and inappropriate program, they block it. (I should know, MA and R ratings are blocked on my TV :( )

funny thing is that is impossable for me they are right next to each other for me, unless there is a way to make a half channel.
