So you are planning to steal Bungie's software?Exabyte wrote:I wish I had an app where you make your weather shaders, also particle distance where you can decide how for apart the sand snow ash rain ect. is coming from the sky... I saw some of bungie's software and you can actually play halo 2 and edit map all at once, and patch weather zones and particle distance and AI zones where you can put where all AI can go and can't go like ledges or somthing ect. and you can see SBSP and transfer models location and height and look in the map all at once and convert models and put them in map also you can convert halo maps to halo 2 and put script commands like scarab moving let or active scenery just like it Metropolis or pelican could swoop down and shoot scarab to... I'll try to bring some software back if my uncle lets me at his job when i go over there for my summer vacation
Don't. And don't spam, this has nothing to do with the topic.

Here's a little something I found, not my code, but I do know it will compile, I'm just not sure how to implement it, or if it even works. Just thought I would share my finding.
Similar scripts can be found in maps like Backwash and a few others. It's probably useless, I know very little about scripting. Just thought it was interesting.
Code: Select all
(script continuous variable_weather
(begin
(weather_start 0)
(weather_change_intensity 0 0.3)
(sleep (random_range 900 1800))
(sleep_until
(begin
(begin_random
(begin
(print "stopping")
(weather_stop (random_range 10 20))
(sleep (random_range 900 1800))
(print "restarting")
(weather_start (random_range 10 20))
(sleep (random_range 900 1800))
)
(begin
(print "light rain")
(weather_change_intensity (random_range 10 20) 0.3)
(sleep (random_range 900 1800))
)
(begin
(print "light rain")
(weather_change_intensity (random_range 10 20) 0.3)
(sleep (random_range 900 1800))
)
(begin
(print "heavy rain")
(weather_change_intensity (random_range 10 20) 1)
(sleep (random_range 900 1200))
(weather_change_intensity (random_range 10 20) 0.3)
(sleep (random_range 900 1200))
)
) False)
)
)
)

I finally had time to test this. Here is the outcome, look closely and you'll be able to see the rain (It's because of the sky.)

As you can see, it works perfectly with SP BSP's.
Oh, and also, it's a BSP conversion, and not Metropolis itself, I have yet to test it's SP effectiveness.
Great Job Detox!

The info file is what tells Entity where all the files are.
The SBSP file is located in one of the folder that Entity creats when you extract a SBSP. Just select all the folders that Entity created and right-click > search, and search for "SBSP." Once you find the SBSP file, open Detox's app and go to the directory that the search screan shows.
