Waiting in line for the Wii

Post by Evolved »

I'm getting ready to head off to Best Buy to wait in line with some friends for the Wii. Is anyone else doing the same? Or wishing that they were doing the same?

I don't have money right now, but I'm going with two friends tomorrow, they have someone holding two systems for them at a not-well-known store. We're going when the store so he doesn't have to find a way to keep people from buying them for hours, but it beats waiting in line.

I just got my Wii last night at 12:03. I was the first one in line at EB Games. I've been playing Wii sports with my brother. I'm going to pick up some actual games today. Maybe Zelda, Red Steel, Elebits.
EDIT: Is anyone with the Wii having online issues?

Their main website is having an internal server error. I'm not sure if the two are related at all.

Someone already got an AR version of GCOS partially running.

So maybe Wii homebrew/hacking won't be too far off. I personally think this would be great, and since the Wii has similar hardware to the Gamecube, it shouldn't be too hard to design a new modchip.

I'm defiantly going to mod my Wii. I can't wait till I can buy all those old games for it. I'm looking forward to Paperboy and Buck Bumble.

Wow.

Me and four friends were in line for more than 24 hours and were 20-24th in line at Best Buy. We all got ourselves a Wii and let me just say...Zelda owns.

I'm personally waiting for the DVD-capable version of the Wii. While I DO have a DVD player, it's for my parents' TV, that my gaming systems aren't hooked up to. I never buy consoles around launch time, so I'm thinking that, what the heck, I'll just wait it out. :)

I opened the morning the Wii launched and I wish I had a camera for the first two people through the door..
It was pathetic. They were seriously pushing people out of the way, foaming at the mouth, shouting "MYNE MYNE MYNE!!"

I decided to play a little trick with 'em, and sold it to them almost painfully slow.
I basically just sat there saying I had to wait for a manager. It was hilarious.
(And, yes, I am an ass. ;) )

I've broken a TV from throwing a controller into it once.. >_>

Of course it was a TV we wanted to destroy and it was a malfunctioning PS2 controller. :p

(Tural, btw, you're unblocked. >_> Who cares if your *** count is bigger/wider/girthier than mine? xD )

I suppose you just have to give lots of extra room for the cord if you're playing...extension cord product anyone?

Oh...it meant the Wiimote strap, I thought it was talking about the one between the Wiimote and Nunchuk breaking.
