WIP: Halo 2 SP Mod for PC/CE

Pros:
That right there, L33T, is a fascinating set of animations, once again you did a beautiful job recreating Halo 2 in your mod. Major kudos on getting the lock-on patch to work ingame, and I'm glad you've got all three attack animation on the sword.
Quick question though: in Halo 2, all weapons lunge to some extent when you directly melee an enemy... will / do yours?
Cons:
When the chief lunges, the fingers on his left hand are supposed to spread out more, and when he reloads the Rocket Launcher it looks like he's palming the canister instead of grasping it, looks a little funky.
And the Rocket Launcher lock-on... should only function when you have a target to lock onto, or at the very least the targeting patch should only appear when the reticle is over an enemy. If you get that to work, apply the same concept to the sword lunge.

-Energy Sword attack proximity: the damage proximity for the lunge is off, the enemy goes flying while contact is never even made

I say edit the bitmap to be bluer and then make the shader more transparent...

False. Homing rockets home onto any enemy, even if its just a random non moving biped, it only locks on to enemies (homes wen enemies are in vehicles as well)Amit wrote:well u mean anything that moves right?, because u cant really lock onto an inanimate object because that defeats teh purpose of the lock on

Not possible AFAIK. Melees cannot use effect tags. Only a damage effect tag for when it impacts a target and a response damage effect tag when the melee actually connects with a target. I averaged out the amount of time it would take for the player to "lunge" toward a target based on the closest distance [right in front of the target] and the farthest distance. [3.5 world units?]
