Post by inferno »

Ive been frustrated lately....

My internet has been slowing down constantly for mounths... I think charter is screwing me or cutting my bandwidth or something casue with a UN MODDED game in beaver creek 4 people ping is about 200 to 300 everyone... Its makeing people leave and im sick of it..
There for to get charter back im thinking about uncapping my internet too about... lets say 5mb a second...
I dont know what im getting into with this so some advice might help because from what i do know charter might ban me... like i care those jackass's.

I feel your pain. I have Verizon FiOS (fiber-optics). 15mbit/s down 5mbit/s up. For about 3-5 months, the Internet slowed down to almost dial-up.

Maybe all the ISP's are forming a conspiracy too lower speed and raise cost and eventually take over the world!

I must start a revolution!!! :D

Everyone uncap your internet on the count of 3 and we will bring them DOWN!

that violates whatever contract you have with the internet company, and they can cancel your internet altogether.

Charter has proven itself very crappy within the last months. I switched over to Verizon and it has been much better. Just swap ISPs.

check your plan you signed up for to see what the speeds are marked as, then give them ping delay results to google.com (a much faster connection than yours) and ask what the problem is, or maybe if they can send a technician down to check things out. otherwise, switch ISPs. uncapping your internet will lose you internet access, and maybe even give you a bad name to ISPs.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Ok then..

I think ill take all of your advice and switch ISP's if this dosent speed up in the next week or so. But Before i do switch ISP's i think ill uncap my internet for a day too lets say... 100mbs and download every torrent on pirates bay while hosting a laggless server on halo and Nox at the same time.. use up all the bandwidth that charter didnt give too me that i payed for  in about 30 seconds :)

Hope this works out! :P

and a note too charter if someone who works their reads this (though i doubt it) you guys need to get off your ass's and fix your fucking Internet service before you lose all your customers. you have a week. :x

Rofl at you threatening your ISP. even if they did read this, they most likely wouldn't care if they lose one customer.

Really they are close too losing all of their customers. All of my freinds who have charter have also been complaining of their declineing from fast too fuck internet. I mean serously  they used too be fast as shit and now ..... they are shit... ironic.. so charter F. U. N. the A. <--- Diggnation joke --- :)

(also i could easily crash charters servers if i tried hard enough i mean seriously my seed rate on Azureus is like 9999999999 im seeding about 9 things right now! (though i do pause during halo online and surfing web) And i download TONS of stuff everyday trust me charter should be scared.. very scared... )

you dont get it. i mean seriously, you really dont. they wont be scared of one person, all they have to do is see if you go over your bandwidth or cap and they can just disconnect you. simple as that.

i was sorta joking about crashing their servers. But i do plan too try an uncap before i change ISP's because who dosent want too try 100mbs internet even for just 10 minutes?

I still doubt "everyone" you've talked to online would be even close to enough people to so much as make a dent in their profits.

I have SBC Yahoo DSL, and it works just fine (56.0mb/s, and $34.95/month, and that's on wi-fi which tends to slow it down)

I got Internode ADSL, 1.5mbps down and 256mbps up, 20GB monthly usage limit (doesn't count uploads), and all for $60. Internet here is truly shameful, but Internode are the best around and comparatively cheap... as opposed to our main national carrier. My old Telstra plan was 512kbps down, 128kbps up, 10GB limit (INCLUDING uploads), and for $70... less unmetered content too. Ripoff merchants.
