360 Update

Post by a mammoth »

What do you guys think of the 360 dash update?

I am really liking that you can now stream videos from your PC without media center.

Also XNA is implemented, which will be awesome.

Wait by the 360 update you mean the update that came out on the 17th? I thought that was just a minor update.

Awesome. I was pissed when I learned that you needed Windows MCE to stream video, now I don't.

i'll bet someone makes quite the crafty game using XNA that acts like a web browser ... just maybe...

I already downloaded and am currently installing the XNA beta.
It and everything else you need to use it is free! Finally, something Microsoft didn't screw up with! Now to find a suitable free-use 3d fps engine for Visual C# that I can fix up to work with the XNA...

When (If) they decide to add multiplayer functionality to user-created XNA titles, I... hmm... I can't even think of a good metaphor, that's how fucking awesome it would be.

Yes it would, if XNA games have access to the networking stuff, then there really is no nee to mod a 360's OS.

Maybe, not sure though. I know that it downloads some stuff to the harddrive, but I'm not sure it matters, because the updates are stored in the 360's flash memory which is in all 360's.
