This game is before Halo 1, Armed.

And I'm looking at the part where the Elite is holding the dead soldier. His head is a lot bigger than the human...

Just found out.

That was pre rendered. None of that is in game graphics.

Kills some of my enthusiasm, but I still think it is awesome graphic wise.

I'm not surprised. How often do you see a video game trailer where they show actual gameplay? Rarely. They show cutscenes and renders, just because they can have better graphics than the actual in-game engine.

Most RTS's can't be modded, but they have map editors.
