Modding for a possible Dedicated server?
Modding for a possible Dedicated server?
I am a member of the MLG halo2 community and i am wondering if the modding community might be able to help me out. As you prabably know, in competative halo theres alot of problems with host and lack of dedicated servers giving one team/player an unfair advantage. My idea is to somehow have the host xbox be modded and have the player either never spawn or have him spawn someone safe out of the map where he cannot influence the game in anyway. But one of the problems with starting a game with 9 players is that the number of starting grenades is reduced to 1(to my knowlege), and the norm is that players spawn with 2. If all this is possible by only having the host xbox moddified then that would be ideal. It would be extremely expensive/impractical to mod every xbox in play. Any help/information would be grately appreciated.
EDIT: The grenade and spawn problem might be a non issue because it would be better to have the modded box start the game and then he can just get out of the map and then all the players could join when its ready. But! then you would have the problem of somepeople spawning before others.

Hmm well mostly, spawn points are random, as in it's random whether you will spawn in ur designated far away spawn point, but what you could do is make it a 3rd teams spawn point and move ALL the 3rd teams spawns to the same far away spot. As for the grenades i'll try to get back to u on that.

Well if you are going to use the mods on live we cannot help you alothough you seem to not be using them on live, you might be able to null the biped that you are using, such as the elite (since no one seems to use it, especailly the people that take halo way too seriously) (those being MLGers)). or you could null the BSPs collision too to let him be out of the map, no one else would have nulled BSP collsion. Those are just my ideas.
