Since what what a trainer does is temperarily run changes to the XBE, I can only assume that you can use an original XBE running with the changes hardcoded into it.iGeo wrote:Xbox7887, I just saw your idea of pathing the xbe to allow AI in MP without the use of the trainer, is it *possible* to have the dev cam patched into the xbe without a trainer, e.g. able to take screenshots and use the dev cam without launching Xored and then yelo?
Thanks,

I have an odd feeling about this. After one person asks to put the devcam in this new patch, more people are going to want more from the original trainer. In the end, I think that we're going to basically be asking xbox7887 to convert the entire "Yelo" trainer to a xbe patch for Halo 2. I'm not sure whether this would be better or worse, whether the Yelo mod stays as a trainer or becomes a built-in part of Halo 2...

I am pretty sure it must be in the XBE build before it can be converted into an ETM.Reyals_Bemus wrote:I have an odd feeling about this. And guys, I think the reason he uses a trainer instead of a patch, is so people can't compare and find out how he did it. I don't think he's going to release this stuff as a patched xbe, the only patched one he said he might release was one that allows him to run another exploit in the map to get AI enabled, so I don't think you should get your hopes up for an xbe patch.

Patching an XBE is a different process than making a trainer - in the end I'd assume its much more convenient for him to make it as a trainer.OwnZ joO wrote:And guys, I think the reason he uses a trainer instead of a patch, is so people can't compare and find out how he did it. EDIT:
@XBox7887: About running code in a map, do you mean you'd make a trainer that lets it do that, or finding an exploit inside the unmodified Halo2 to do that?
And by code, do you mean simple things within Halo2, or any real xbe code?
Just mind that if you figure out something like that, we'll probably have mods before you know it that will format your hard drive when you die, softmod your xbox, or other potentially dangerous things. I can't imagine much use for the ability to run code in a map other than to enable AI without the trainer.
