Half Life 2

Ok before I say anything, yes I no that this is HALO mods and yes I no I should ask steam. But heres the thing I did 5 days ago and nobody can help me. So heres my problem, Ive installed half life 2 and all that stuff and when I go and click on half life 2 that says pre loaded same with counter strike source and down at the bottom is says purchase and properties. Now ive activated the product with my cd key and I have purchased the product. Now heres the weird thing this is just happening now ive actualy have played the game on this cd key and have betean it and have also played multiplayer in the past. Also my friend has tried it and he also gets the same problem. I dont understand, why I cant launch my game. So if anybody can tell me how to fix this or where I can get help that would me MOST APPRECIATED. Thanks you!!!

Reinstall Steam. And then reinstall Half-life 2

You made any changes to your PC or installed anything else since it stopped working?

Yes but I cant tell you exactly what, and none of it should effect it.

i kind of have the same problem, is there anyway you can install half life 2 with out installing steam, because personally i find it the biggest pain in the ass

That's what I hate about Valve's games. You have to have Steam to play them.
