Quick guide how to edit the Halo 2 .xbe file so it does not boot the Autoupdate, which is highly recommended when using this mappack!!!, not necessary
1. Open the Halo 2 default.XBE up in a hex editor
2. Search for offset 0x40D2CC (DEC=4248268)
and make sure you've selected the 'beginning of file' option when going to the offsets. Click search or w/e.
3. In the text part of the hexeditor You will see t:\$u\ , just change that letter to random letter for example T:\$w\.
Don't get scared if you still get the update-error message when booting halo 2..
You'll still be able to play your downloaded content!!!
