What can blue screens others

Post by The Legend »

I made a modded map with projectile changes and spawn changes that i thought would work for people if i was hosting. Turns out if im hosting they would blue screen out of the game :( . So im wondering if anyone could tell me the things they know would blue screen people..

what i know: skins (heh)

my map has these changes...

- duplicated [itmc] weopons that i cloned in the [scnr] tag and replaced with [bloc] tags and a [bipd] (such as crates, hinge lights, spartans) then placed in diff places on map with entity beta 1.1.6

- replaced a sniper (sniper (3)) with the [mach] scarab (this is on turf)

- projectile changes are all ok.. most radicle is replaced sniper proj with realy fast needle shard that explodes

- Replaced the [html] of the sentinel beam with the tank cannons and made the [proj] for the tank cannon shells (this could be it). however i did replace the [html] of the sentinel with the uberchassis in terminal and it worked fine.

any help is apreciated and would narrow it down

its because you added a bunch of stuff and changed a whole lot, and the changes are too different from the non modded version so when you host a game the non modders xbox's are like wtf whats all this, im outta here. Thats why they blue screen in an uber non technical way

When you import things to another map and then reference them, then anyone who wants to play that map must have the modded version. you imported the uberchassis from terminal into your map for example, and non-modders dont have uberchassis in their turf map like you do, if I were an xbox i would prolly not like that

You also must fix system link since you changed/made tags within the [itmc] tag. Entity can do that

I'm pretty sure you can swap dependencies and change values and stuff (like damage and whatnot) but you don't want to add anything new or duplicated (duplicated=new) to the map or it won't work.
There are exceptions, though. One of my teammates sys-link's a map with a Raptor on it (longsword assigned as a warthog horn's hlmt) with a no-mod box, so I'm not too clear on all the rules.
