I've been working on this one for quite a while now. Those who remember my Alterior Gulch mod (i found out recently that alterior isn't even a word, and that it should have been ulterior) may recognize a few aspects.

Keep in mind that this mod may not be finished any time soon. I'm not devoting all of my time to it and i may get bored again (like I did a couple months ago before i restarted work today). You might also want to know that a mod I made before this (Alterior Gulch) is still in beta :P

The premise of this mod is that humans have captured some covenant energy weapons tech and have retrofitted their vehicles with it. The tank fires a concentrated beam of plasma (if anyone has read Halo: First Strike, you'd know that Cortana found a way to direct plasma in a beam, as opposed to small globules). There are alaso a few captured Ghosts and banshees that have also been fitted with the narrow beam plasma guns (the projectiles and banshee skin aren't in the mod yet, but soon to come). I've also added the classic Halo Xbox field of view. I've always liked it better. Comments appreciated.

Excellent. Creativity and time taken always wins in my book.

This will be one of the two mods I'll probably download this whole year. :P

EDIT: Looking at the picture of the tank again, here's a suggestion. Try to turn the smoke effect into a more Covenant-y thing, like plasma lines or something, if you can.

about the lines, i can't really do that. They'd linger for too long. In one spot. It wouldn't look right. On top of that there's the difficulty of making a whole new mask for it. I could do some more swappage and see what I get. *backs up the map, then attempts*

...It is the UNSC logo...*teh sigh*...But in the case of that logo, UNSC stands for United Nations Security Commission (really). It and the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) logo are close enough, though. Practically the same, so I just used the only one i could find that was in a high enough rez.

EDIT: and Here is the UN Space Command logo, but when you click it for a higher rez, which i need, it says not found :(

Although this is a mac mod and i dont have it on mac or pc I must say that those skins are very good and the whole idea behind the mod is fantastic...It may prove as inspiration for me in later mods...I wanna skin the h2 ghost that way! :D May I try?

My only suggestion would maybe try tweak the shader for some kind of glare/glow effect that would show itself pretty much only on the blue area of the skin...I dont know how h1 stuff works so I cant offer any help but GJ on this so far :P

i'd have to make a new multipurpose for it but i don't know how. You may attempt a Halo 2 skin of it. As for how to make the line patterns, i just follow lines that are already there.

EDIT: thought of a catchy name for the mod: "Retrofit"

The one on my other computer (a G4) is actually overkill. I didn't know that a radeon 9600 would do just fine, and I got a 9800. That was an extra 100 bucks down the toilet. You can get a 9600 (the one I have on my G5 that i'm using right now) for about 200 bucks.

EDIT: to avoid confusion, i was talking to aeon. It seems that l337 made a post just before i submitted mine.

Done before? Never heard of it, and I bet many others haven't either. Not that i'm questioning that it has, in fact, been done before.
