sound injection???
i can't seem to find a program that will encode using the xbox adpcm codec correctly. I took the battle rifle shooting sound from the halo 2 E3 video.... but I CANT GET IT TO INJECT using halo map tools, even when I encode it using sony sound forge. I guess it has the wrong header or something... GOD everything has gone wrong so far with my battle rifle
ANY IDEAS???
P.S. I was also thinking about a mod for the BG TURRET MOD, use the E3 sound of the mounted gun, (CUZ ITS AWESOME, just like the rest of it) but if i cant get these friggin things to inject, then screw it!

you have a great outlook on things.. i suggest that you calm down and look over what you have done, clearly you made a mistake somewhere along the line, and i know that one of the recent threads has the location of a correct codec.. maybe its at haloskins.. i read it somewhere, and how to change the halo loading screen music

Sound problem
I'm try to play around with the sounds in halo but I seem to be having trouble with installing the xb_adpcm_codec. I follow the directions but Xbox ADPCM does not want to come up in the Manager Audio Codecs. I'm running win98 and was wondering if it even works with this version of windows. If not, which codec should I use (if there is on) to fix this problem?

- Save a Halo sound
- Save your own (wav) sound
- Go to record in the Halo sound
- Go to the properties
- Check to see if it's somehting like 22.050 mono 4 or w/e
- Now go to record on your own sound
- Go to "Convert Now"
- Change the settings to "22.050 khz 16 mono er w/e
- put both sounds in your C:\ so that paths are C:\Blah and C:\again... Blah
- Now take your xbadpcmencoder.exe out of your HaloMapToolsv2 folder and put it in the C drive.
- Go to your start menu and go to "run"
- Type command
- Now when the screen comes up, type cd.. *hit enter* cd..*hit enter*
- Now type C:\xbadpcmencoder.exe C:\*Youreditedsoundhere.wav C:\Theregularhalosoundhere.wav
- then hit enter...

OMG i downloaded goldwave, and it works all good, but hmt still says it's the wrong filetype! what format do i need to put it in?
i've tried saving in:
Microsoft ADPCM 22.050khz, 4bit mono
Microsoft ADPCM 22.050khz, 4bit stereo
IMA ADPCM 22.050khz, 4bit mono
IMA ADPCM 22.050khz, 4bit stereo
because hmt tells me that it's 22.050 and such...
am i doing something wrong?

Well, the whole reason of having HMT v2 is the xbadpcmencoder.exe file. So i recommend this:
- put all of your sounds (edited and normal) and the xbadpcmencoder.exe in the C:\
- Then go to run and type command
- Then type C:\xbadpcmencode.exe C:\(W/e you called the edited sound).wav C:\(Normal sound name).wav Then it should work and THEN you should be able to import.
Hope that helped!
