thats not possible. there is no place where the internet is. the internet is a worldwide network of servers and computers that can communicate with each other. seriously, even if this law is passed, how would they expect to enforce that?

You connect to this network of servers through your ISP, this bill would give those ISPs the authority to determine what sites you can visit, and they can charge you more for visiting specific sites, which violates freedom of information laws and other free enterprise laws.

Simple, even though in capitalism the government aren't supposed to control companies, the FCC is proving that they still do. So if the government ever wanted to enforce their need to control the internet, they will.

Even so, i highly doubt that they would use corruption just to pass some silly thing like this, like i said, i doubt that this is even a real bill.

EDIT: Ok, i just looked at thier site, and i looked at the press page they had, and all of the stories there werent direct links to the real article so how am I supposed to know this is a real article?

 This reminds me of MAVAV

This isn't the government taking over the internet, its the ISP companies you have your facts wrong. The companies are lobbying for this bill to pass to give them these rights, the politicians and the government are merely a means to an end.

government: the biggest hippocritical society ever created. i pray to god this bill isn't passed.

if it is, my life goal will be to create my own low cost high speed ISP giving people what they deserve; low cost, fast internet access with not "fine print". a transfer rate will be limited by the server's and client's capabilities and network traffic, and every site is accessible. i'll also have "no hacking allowed" in the TOS, but won't really enforce it (unless needed).

If they got rid of the internet, I would capture evry politician responsible, torture them, put them in jail, and replace them with smarter everyday people who actually have common sense.

yeah, if they really did that to the internet, it would ruin the economy isntantaneously. every single business today uses the internet to communicate with either their suppliers/vendors or other parts of the corporation. My father's auto-shop uses the internetto order parts from nearby dealers, Walgreens uses the StoreNet (which makes use f the internet) to post/exchange sales, inventory, maintence, pharmacy records, everything. The internet has become VITAL to businesses in bothe the private and corporate sectors.

Don't you guys read? They aren't getting rid of the Internet. The internet is too big of an economic source to shut down. Hundreds of thousands, if not Millions of companies depend on the internet for business, and is logically idiotic.

This is not about the shut-down of the internet, this is a bill to put way too much control over the internet in the hands of the private sector, something as powerful as the internet should be in the hands of the people alone.
