~~Need help Importing model back to HMT~~

Post by Armoured-Fury »

Ok after doing a few video tutorials for people on here i thought i'd give that a rest for a day or so and get on with some of my own editing.

Basicly i want to start editing vehicle models and then put them back into Halo using HMT.

I am reasonably good at modeling but all tutorials regarding this are for Milkshape and i only have 3DS Max.

Is there somebody here that could be really generous and tell me what i need to do in order to export from Max and import into HMT properly as i always seem to get an error message when i import into HMT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just need to know how to do that, possible rules to remember, etc. I've tried looking on Google and refining my search results also i always look on Google before confronting a forum for help.

Many thanks in advance

The reason you get the error message is because 3ds max adds extra verticies and indicies onto your model when you save it. And HMT doesnt like extra verticies and indicies.

Basically, 3ds max is only good for custom models, not remodels.

Oh ok then.. So what software do you reckomend i use then? Lol..

Also technicly all software will do that because if you're adding something to a model wont that add vertices and indicies?

No because you need Milkshape and you need to know how to remodel.

To remodel something in halo, you cant just add extra objects, you have to do what it literally says, remodel not add-model.

correct, you may not add or subtract one single vertex, edge, or face or you screw it up and cant improt.

Well there are ways to get in custom models but you have to be EXTREMELY good at coding and stuff, I dont know if there are any tutorials out there, but i know it can be done.
