Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Otherwise, sounds awesome.
well im sure thats true but, doesnt the silencer improve the accuracy becuase of a longer barrel length and im not so sure it slopws the bullet velocity. but if ur right hten u are, oh BTW nice job on the mapping laser

Accuracy would probably be raised a fraction, yeah. But generally silencers work by either slowing the gases coming out of the barrel, or by the bullet itself being designed to travel at a subsonic speed.

I got bored with texturing, so I decided to take a break and work on..

The Moonraker Laser!

i still plan to add some more details

On Goldeneye, the original guard thingy in front of the scope simply had some angled slats in it (presumably to protect your eyes from the laser's brightness?). I felt like it might look cooler if replaced by a tinted crosshair grid thingy.

Instead of a 6-sided scope, use something more like 10-16 so it looks better in a FP view. Otherwise, not too bad.

I like every thing except it seems a little short to me.

Btw, what's a good face count for the fp model? What should I try to let be my maximum?

True but this game was low poly.So you have to decide what you want to do:
-Go for the original game
-Upgrade it with better gfx and more polys :D
...left for good

You should aim for about 2000-3500 depending on the gun's size and complexity.

uh...no. I'm recreating it for halo. When I say recreate, I mean create again what someone else had made for the 64, not something I made before. :?

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I do believe I have myself a deadline. June 20
If he takes my suggestion, and adds some more categories, I'll be aiming for best custom weapons and best King.

update.

^I know it doesn't exactly fit, but it's so cute.....and it's somewhat scientifically accurate. 440 nm does produce a blue beam, and a few millisecond pulse of 30kW would definitely be enough to be lethal (were you not in a fancy dancy sparatan suit). Neodymium Ceramic slabs are used in some gigantic lasers today. I probably won't keep it, but if I do, I'll make it transparent to the point of being just barely readable/visible.

Now that I think about it, i probably need to lower the kW to around 15 or 20...in the real world 30 would probably cause an unprotected target to like blow up or something....
