Yea think of all the horse pr0n I could fit on that thing You people have no idea how over priced that is, if you get 4 500GB drives, 4 $30 HD enclosures and some duct tape it would be around $1300 not $1900...
Jks, basicly, nothing in the computing world that's not barebones, isn't cheap. If you want something extremely good, it has to be normally expensive. This 2 Terabyte hard drive proves that you have to pay to get the best. My new computer was normally expensive but I got it on sale, one of the only downsides is the ATI Radeon Express 200 (not that good).
well...this is a little off topic but...does any one know anything about the holographic hdd's they are workin on... id like to know more..supposivly they are something like double layer dvds.. ??? am i right or am i beein a noob.
so it would take SIX FREAKING HOURS to fill it up. and what would you fill it up with? you could make an ISO of every game EVER MADE and never have to swap out CDs again, all for two-hundred-thousand pennies.
In 1987, there was the TRS solid state 15MB external hard drive (yep, 15MB with a key locking system) and it was state of the art, the best of the best. In 2001, we had 137GB hard drives, now there are Terabytes. What comes after Pelabytes, Ultrabytes ?
The Arbiter wrote:Well, within a few years, the price should lower. But a 2 TB HD is kind of useless, no one takes up that much memory. I use an external that is 210 GB, but TB? Crazy.
Considering I've got 200GB and I've nearly filled that, I could do with something that huge...
Unless you're into some serious graphics work or run some sort of server, that's pretty much pointless... Less than 500GB will have you going for a very long time.
my dad is a landscape architect and his work takes up a fair amount of space, i also do a fair bit of 3D modeling and graphical work, also my *piracy cencorship* downloads and videos take up about half of it
