Heh, that's just an opcode list, it describes very little about the IA86 arch. The intel manuals are a fun read.:)

Ah yes, the good old architecture books from Intel...still need to read up on those. I ordered them and read maybe 50 pages before forgetting about them ;x

I've downloaded the Pentium MMX Intel Manual, read the whole thing. Although there are a few things I don't quite understand (setting up paging, and setting up V86 mode)

I wouldn't have to worry about that stuff for trainers are pretty basic to make. All you need is a fair understanding of the mov and conditional commands, basic arithmetic, and how to work with the stack. I might end up writing a tutorial on how to train halo 2 and include some small sample sources to help those like me that learn from examples.

Heh, it was rather important when I was OS-Deving, turning on paging is rather simple, setting a bit in CR0(or CR3, bah, I forget) managing it is what's tricky.Same with V86 Mode, all it is is a bit in EFlags, But you cant modify it directly, it has to be pushed on the stack (pushfl), and gets poped off the stack on an iret, well from what I remember. And V86 mode requires a rather complicated GPF handler....

(I'm assuming by xbcapture you mean the xbmovie tool, not the xbcapture tool which simply takes screenshots which definetely is a stupid question as the trainer itself can take screenshots)
If you have an xbox with 128 mb ram you can, which you most likely do not unless you soldered in the extre chips yourself or have a genuine xbox debug kit. *me huggles my debug kit xbox*

But its nothing to get to worked up about- xbmovie doesn't capture sound, and its only really useable in 320x240 size, otherwise it'll lag the xbox too much in the higher 640x480 mode and reduce the FPS to around 5 :(

Y4Y!

/me dances around in eliptical circles singing

Just make sure that you explain why you do things in the tutorial, I hate it when a tutorial tells you specifically how to do a certain thing, but doesn't tell you why the heck you're doing a bunch of stuff that makes no sense whatsoever.

Don't worry about that, no detail will be spared...it's up to 5 pages and counting and I've only covered simple searching. It will have plenty of pics and examples to go off of. Should be at least 30 pages or so when finished :)

It will be more or less a general guide on how to memory hack xbox games using Halo 2 as an example.
