Hmmm. I get an "Attempted to read or write protected memory" error when I use the raw pointer autofixer after I've injected the BSP meta. I'm trying to convert earthcity_3b bsp from 03b_newmombasa. Maybe it's something about that BSP.

You should inject the BSP Meta after you have used the autofixer. Also, that BSP your trying to convert, im pretty sure it is to large to convert. I'll try it when I get home and see if I can do it myself. :wink:

Actually, you would have to fix the raw after you inject the BSP since it has to fix the pointers in the BSP tag. Also, there is no such thing as a bsp that is too large with this tool since it shifts all the data to inject the meta and raw(if needed).

Well, it must have been the BSP I was trying to convert. Something about it specifically. I just converted the Mainmenu to test it(BTW, it took me like 1/20th the time to do than just using the old tut and doing it manually...ahh convenience is great for us lazy people...)and it worked fine(other than the spawning below the map...But oh well :P )

I'm gonna try another BSP and see if I can get it working.

Well I got the new mombasa bsp to be in waterworks, but whenever I attept to load the map on my Xbox my box freezes. Any ideas?

Me thinking you great modders might make noob mistakes sometimes, do you have the 1.1 patch on because you need it, the only other reason would be you did something wrong (like me) :)

Well looks awesome Shalted, except I have one question. Have you gotten a map to load after injecting a larger sbsp tag because as far as I know, no one has been succesful in getting a map to load after a larger sbsp tag has been injected, even when all meta/raw pointers have been adjusted correctly. I know that people have been able to add more sbsp raw data successfully but what about meta?

Also as a side note whatever happened to porting Incompetence to OSX?

EDIT: It still wont work, but DM sees it fine. Ill work on the spwan locations, also, Shalted, those two fake tags (the ltmp and sbsp ones) that are created, to I keep them how they are, like the bsp one, keep it as a bsp?

Ok but as payback for my great help if it works I want a link to a beta release so I can try it out too :lol: . (If you didn't get that I would like to help beta test) Anyway back on topic could someone please refine this tutorial like SilencedDeath did for Shade45's first one?

Caution: Make sure you inject the BSP in this order.
1.Inject Meta
2.Change Size & Magic
3.Fix Raw

If you inject the bsp after you change the size and magic, the program will think it's got more space to inject the BSP than it really has.

Oh and another reason why things don't work sometimes is because you forgot to transfer the lightmap too. Trust me I know from experience. :P

No, the light map is actually part of the BSP, well... The BSP as you guys know it.

i did a conversion for coagulation to the first old mombosa bsp and that part took only about 2 minutes for me

I wonder what actually makes a map system link. What properties must a map have to be system linkable??? Is there a way to find out?
