[WIP]Desert Eagle
i started on modeling for a deserting eagle, and i need to work on the back of the handle a little more, but other than that the geometry for the handle is almost done, what you thing... also take into consideration i am a beginner at modeling... illl continue wok on it tommorow, but for now, i have to go to bed... and by the way this was done in gmax with box modeling (as you can see), what you see took me about half an hour...

That's the bit he's done... it looks wrong. I can't fully explain, but it just does. Mainly because the slant to the edges is in the wrong place and wrong angle, but it looks a bit too wide, too...Cuda wrote:for gods sake, please remove your outrageously large sig... but what happend to the handle?
Not bad for a beginner, but needs work.

You're image plane is stretched, that's why it looks weird.

Everything you'll ever need to know about me.
Need help with Linux, C#, C, Python, Java, PHP, Javascript, CSS, or VB? I'm available from 3:00PM-8:00PM EST on weekdays.

that was a little off-topic...Royal wrote:why do you always say "i would tell him to learn to plane model" well you dindnt so we dont need to no thatdarkstorm995 wrote:3 different boxes for only the handle, i would say learn plane modelling but it seems you still need to learn how to polygon model.

He is doing it all wrong, understandable since he seems new to modelling, thats why i said learn further polygon modelling. Because his modelling is pretty much taking a bunch of primitives and modelling pieve by piece.Royal wrote:why do you always say "i would tell him to learn to plane model" well you dindnt so we dont need to no thatdarkstorm995 wrote:3 different boxes for only the handle, i would say learn plane modelling but it seems you still need to learn how to polygon model.
I suggest doing some more tutorials on Polygonal modelling then taking the jump to planes since they are more efficient and could save you polys if done right.
This guy whom I dont remember the name of, made a tutorial on plane modeling a baretta, its like 7 parts or something (I have it somewhere on my old harddrive).
Upon watching and following it, I learned to plane model, thus making my attempts at making guns, much better and more realistic.
I started off liek you are with the DE, however, and got many possitive comments on my outcomes (probably because I had them skinned as well).
So keep doing what your doing, getting used to the program, them move onto the next step. If you need help drop me a PM.

lol, everyone is always complaining about how long it takes to d/l the vids. ya'll act like you got something better to do
i'm only kidding. the video d/l may take forever, but, it's worth the wait. patience is a virtue. no shit.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

i know, i must be doing something wrong here, but how do you think i am for a beginner, and what do you think of my potential as a modeler?darkstorm995 wrote:He is doing it all wrong, understandable since he seems new to modelling, thats why i said learn further polygon modelling.
