Request for more moderators or to bring back the Arbiters
although iron_forge makes some very good points I see moderators on quite a bit...kirk for example, i see him a whole lot here fixes threads and locks them when they are done. But then i dont have much of a clue of what iron_forge is argueing about since i dont actually get to see reported posts and such so he COULD be right there...but then again might not be.
But this is about that we need more moderators, not "lets dig into the current ones for doing a poor job if they do that.".
So first off we need to get rid of inactivy mods echelon and evolved are inactvie now ....they used to be great moderators but now it seems they cant come on here no more, so those 2 should be replaced by someone who the admins think is worthy (me of course )

Wow. Nice long topic. Let's change the focus a little here. I believe the site can be bettered not by changing the rules, not by adding more; not by changing administration, not by adding more. Rather, I believe it's the interpretation of the current rules that needs to be mended. Any list of rules that contains the disclaimer "We're lenient about this, but keep it to a dull roar." is bound to fail. From a psychological point of view, you cannot give somebody a way out, and that's exactly what that is. The rules we have now are fine (except for that line); here's how I think the site experience could be improved: Hold people accountable for breaking them.
Think about this for a moment, if you will. A fictional user, we'll call him 'uralllame', looks around for awhile on the forums before he posts his first time. He sees in the rules that we cannot swear, yet, in looking, he also sees that basically everyone on the forums does. Not only does this lead him to believe that we in fact can swear, it encourages him to test the other rules. Here we go, a one-way road downhill.
You (moderators) need to start taking action against little things like swearing, or take it off of the rules. My preference would be the prior; there's no need for language like that on this or any community forum. It leads only to trouble.
You (users) need to re-think the rules for what they are. They are not simply test barriers for you to constantly push and bend. They are instated for the common good, and are meant to be followed. But, if you didn't already know that, there are tons of other Halo sites out there that may be more in your line of opportunities.
Well this turned out to be a much longer post than I had planned...

Actually...I meant to type it like that, it hooks attention when you can type something twice in one sentence and be using correct grammar while you're at it. (See? It worked on you!) That means that we shouldn't change the rules and we shouldn't add more, nor should we change the moderators or add more.Hikaru wrote:Well said Swamp Fox. But were you distracted while typing? This topic is interesting :]not by adding more; not by changing administration, not by adding more

I totally agree with Swamp Fox, there is no need to add more people to a group with power, nor change the rules.
Everything is fine as it is, people will be warned if they do something wrong. Just be a little strickter, that is all that is needed, moderators need to be strickter, should take a look at my thread named "Idiotic People - Need to be Warned".

You guys all say that you agree and like so-and-so's ideas, but are we doing anything to solve the problem? It seems pretty clear to me that nothing is going to come out of the hands of the administration that we aren't already getting. (Except maybe a few closed reports just to smite us and to prove that we're wrong, and the moderators do, in fact, do their jobs well.)

Why the Last Four Months... this tread started Feb 15, 2006, and personally speaking, this thread is the spark....The Swamp Fox wrote:As far as I'm concerned, they have already had their time. The last four months.

Something should have been done long before we got mad about it. This is an issue everyone saw coming, but decided to wait on it. This isn't like Hurricane Katrina, an unforeseeable unfortunate event; this has been steadily growing over the past months. HaloMods has had this 'spark' coming to it, and apparently needed it to set off a reaction.

Are you blind? Supporting peoples points helps solve the problem. As you said, HALOMODS DOESN'T NEED MORE MODERATORS, nor more rules or changed rules, but better people and active people as Xero says. The Swamp Fox wrote:You guys all say that you agree and like so-and-so's ideas, but are we doing anything to solve the problem? Once people support your point admins/moderators listen and focus more on it.

Really, About the admins never posting, It's like Gorge bush becoming a police officer, The mods take care of the post's themselfs, admins Shouldnt moderate these fourms, They are like the presidents.Dire Hunter wrote:id say ombre but then again hes already a moderator, Ravenzcroft and ketchup bomb seem to be the best...Ravenzcroft went at the fake HM and did a *** good job..Ketchup bomb? you just seem like the person to do this....id like haveing them as moderators...the best moderators here in my opinion are
Ombre
Kirk
Logan
SHOUTrvb...
best ones here...
And really WHERE are the admins! i have not seen one in...........wait i HAVENT seen one...if i have it was a post that was made atleast a YEAR ago!
Ombre i swear hes got a good position but if it were up to me! admin in a heartbeat hes Dedicated and he sticks up for people instead of just sayin...DONT FLAME...
But iron forge has a point...
Arbiter submission...I never saw this thread...GREAT way for trouble! because you can get the most Backstabbing liar EVER....
Veegie? sorry your a good guy and everything but your constant...Spell checks and of course useing your sopisticated vocabulary gives me the wrong feeling...
Xero? ehh...im not going there...
Iron Forge...Hmm got good intentions but he seems....YOU seem like you would be just a LIL bit too strict...
and i barely ever see encouragement inless its from ombre or some of the NICER people in the Halo pc file forum...Halo2 downloads....just the other day this guy said his map dosnt deserve to be on Mimesis...And also i dont really like how Logan isnt a full moderator...Logan your an awesome guy and your sig cracks me up everytime and ive never had a complaint with you...
And whoever took that little Escapade out of Xero's Sig Thanks...
all im sayin is why are the good people not mods or in a lower position logan kirk and some others are proof of this too...
When you say who should be moderator, thats your personal opinion, Someone might be the most mean person ever, And be a great moderator. I think the Admins should find people in REAL life that is mature, and get them to help moderate the bourd.
