Combat Truely Evolved v.2 [Excellent AI]
Okay, welcome to my updated version of Halo Combat Truely Evolved. First, a list of the gun modifications.
*Projectile Swaps*
1) AR fires powerful plasma waves that usually come from Covie Dropship and has a 3x scope. It also has an accuracy upgrade
2) Plasma Pistol's primary fire is superhoming needle, dealing greater damage and has the plasma rifle contrail. Its overcharge is a perfect fuel rod blast
3) Needler has an accuracy improvement and fires stronger plasma rifle shots at a slightly higher speed
4) Pistol fires the same, but has a 2x and 10x scope
5) Plasma rifle fires plasma overcharges downgraded in damage to a degree so as not to kill in 3 or 4 shots
6) Sniper Rifle has 68 shots plus 8 free ones that don't effect the clip
7) Warthog turret fires the superhoming needles, allowing you to quickly kill and continuously blow up your enemy's corpse
*Sound Editing*
Almost all weapons have a different sound to them [The pistol is the best]
*Vehicle Changes*
1) Warthog sideseat is now third-person
2) Incomming lifepods look like warthogs [watch intro bink of level]
*AI*
* The marines and the covenant have a wider range of sight and hearing
* Both sides have more vitality
* Neither the marines or any of your enemies will panic or cower, even if their leader is killed
* You now have more snipers who love to execute headshots on far away targets [The unarmored ones are invincible which is very helpful on Legendary] It's a beast!
* All AI are more accurate, especially the marines so that it isn't a one man war anymore
* The Covenant AI are now separated into new platoons
- Jackals command squadrons of grunts
- Elites run a Spec. Ops clan, sticking together to surge enemy lines and annihilate all who stand in their way
* Finally, All AI in the game have improved intelligence - By this I mean the following
- They are now designed to crouch when hiding from an enemy
- Elites also crouch behind cover if their shields are low
- They sneak around to uncover a hiding target
- Can see in the dark [Applys to sneak detection]
- Only fire when they have a clear shot so as not to give away they're postition
- They crouch when guarding a facility or other objective
- Marines, snipers, jackals, elites and grunts all throw grenades
- Not all Human AI throw the same type of grenade, most try to stick their enemies only the higher ranked soldiers like snipers and majors throw frags
- To further force their enemy out of cover, jackals use their overcharge [fuel rod blast] when an enemy is hiding behind cover
*Special Thanks to Wooden Dragon for teaching me how to work the AI*
*There is a video download below to see a SMALL glimpse of the mod*
[Marine sticks a grunt so look for it besides marveling at the other stuff]
Please READ the readme, especially if you don't know how to apply the mod.
It has a step by step guide stating how and what to apply the ppf to.
If you download the video or the mod, please leave feedback. Hope you all have fun, enjoy!
**ANNOUNCEMENT**
There have been problems with getting it to work for some people, so this explanation should help fix that (thanks Chocobo Rider for the PM)
You ONLY apply the patch to cache000.map. You say that you ran the game and loaded the level HALO? Did you then save the game at a checkpoint and then go to your dashboard? If not, do so and ftp the new cache000.map to your computer, patch it (I tested the patch for the 5th time, it works for me) and transfer it to either drive x,y,z whichever it showed up in. Then reload the game from your hdd, run it, select campaign, select halo and play it on a DIFFERENT difficulty than what you had previously saved it at. If you don't change the difficulty, everything gets screwed up because of the changes I've made. Hope this helps!

you would need to have both maps and make a ppf of the ntsc one to apply to the pal one. There is a conversion tool but it only does the multiplayer maps.guardian232 wrote:Does anyone know how to convert a NTSC mod to make it compatible for PAL halo?insane250 wrote:good job. sounds like a real awesome mod. sadly i cannot use cause i have pal halo . Still good job on the modding
