Timberland -- Supersize the amount of trees for $.35!

Post by Dark Cloud »

Yes, Timberland now has tons more trees, thanks to Sparkedit 3.0!

I remember a lot of people wanting a better sniping level, or a denser forest. Now, I've made this version of Timberland so that you still can navigate any type of vehicle programmed into the level around, so you shouldn't have any troubles with that... however, a few places might be more difficult to navigate through. For example... the river!...

Image

Yes, now one of the ends of the river has a fallen tree blocking it. So, not much will be able to get through there without veering off to the side, which could get a good sniper another kill, or even a person with a good throw could be able to kill an opponent trecking through the woods with a nice grenade.

The level now also has tons of other fallen trees hanging across the levels hills. A couple examples...

And there is an area by the red base that has 2 fall trees together, allowing for a player to easily hide between the 2, pop out ever so often, fire a few bullets, and hide once again. Also nice for running across to avoid the slow climb up some hills.

Heres 1 more screenshot for you all...

Hope you like the mod everyone! And other than the extra trees, nothing else has been modded...

BTW, I'm gonna run a Sniping server with the extra trees...

Name: Timberland Mod!
Type: Sniper Wars
Map: Timberland (Duh)
Max players: 6
Infinite Grenades on...

Yea, that should be it. Hope you like the mod, and please come to the server if you get time! :D [/url]

Wow... dang... Hunter, dude... do you do anything but post in every last topic in this forum!?! lol!...

Anyways, thanks a lot for the positive comments guys! I really do appreciate them, especially since this mod isn't anything too awfully special... just a bunch of dupliacted things...

Nice mod, good idea. In the future I would suggest turning all your quality settings up for the screenshots, though.

Ah, thanks for the pointer VC! I never thought of that, nor have I ever turned the details up above medium... I'll have to try that though... :D

BTW, I'm gonna be uploading a new version soon... a few more things will be added, such as teleporters (Already done), more little sniping areas, and possibly some high quality screenshots!

I'm also thinking of deleting all but 1 tree or whatever, and totally remaking the level as far as scenery and weapons/power-up placement goes. :D

if u didn't du any items, just swapped several for trees, then u can make a ppf of it...

plus I sat through an upload... 5 mb on dsl (dsl has only 128 kb/s upstream, dialup has 56 kb/s), and it wasn't that bad...

Blarg... speaking of PPF files, I think I should probably put the one included in my zip file in one... I'll have to do that later...
