Mythbusters
It's an amazing show on the Discovery Channel. Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, special effects gurus, do scientific tests on urban myths to see if they are confirmed, plausible, or busted (didn't/can't happen). They've tested some of the following myths:
Does plugging your finger into the barrel of a gun save your life and hurt the shooter?
How far under water's surface must you be to survive a bullet shot?
Can you do a full 360 degree circle on a swingset pushing under your own weight?
Can vodka be used as a beekiller/cleaner?
Was a canadian soldier actually killed because of a short circuit in his fighter jet that sparked through his hair gel?
Various Jaws myths
Various Indiana Jones myths
Were there really famous archery shooters in medievel times that could split an arrow with another arrow on command?
Is it possible to build a long-range missle with only things available in Civil War times?
Did the Chinese use ancient drums as war alert machines?
All these, and much, much, more. Discover Channel, 9:00 ET on Wenesdays, I believe. Since I discovered this show a few months ago, I've Tivo'd every episode, and watched every single one. And one of the best things, they're up to date with filming new episodes. There is usually a new one every week or two.

I love that show(can never remember when it comes on though XD thanks ravn)
I saw so many episodes....they did one where they see if vodka kills bees, but it just makes them hammered. Then they made(my favorite episode) the chicken cannon. Shoots chickens. I love that it's awsome
And the one I just saw was where they made a crossbow out of newspaper and an underwear strap. The guy without the hat got his to work really well. He got it on his first try to go into the dummies head! I didn't think it would work...good show

I just watched the episode where they use a plane engine to try to shred a wrecked plane fuselage, and I'm absolutely stunned at the result. It was amazing!

I also like the one where they pumped the air pressure inside a junked plane to the same as if it was flying at an altitude of 25,000 feet. They then shot a remote-controlled gun at one of its windows to test the myth that everything on board would try to get "sucked" through the tiny hole.
