ISPs now blocking certain sites

This is just sad. I have long believed that the media controls the masses for personal gain. First the news, then movies, next video games, and now the ultimate information source, the internet.

As this guy said:
Capitalism, like democracy, assumes a well-educated and informed populace, and we do not have that.
... and we do not have that because National News conglomerates control the flow of information. That's CNN backwards. People tell me I need to see a doctor, that I have 'way to strong of an opinion'. I think they need to wake up and smell the hot coffee. The monopolies are strong today, and they've nearly got congress in their hands.

I wouldn't feel a pang of sadness if one of those monopolists dropped dead.

What these ISPs are doing is blocking internet sites that don't 'fit the bill', bribing congress to make laws making what their doing illegal (they could block halomods for whatever reason they feel like), merging their companies, and dis promoting a fair competition. So basically all the ISPs are going to be one giant super ISP/phone company, with absolutely no competition (not even small town ISPs). So if you don't like their service, guess what? You can't find a new ISP to switch to. You're fucked.

For the more astute among us, it means that ISPs are going to start denying access to certain sites, services, and packets. This includes Bittorrent (peer to peer fast, easy, downloads) , VOIP (internet phone service) and anything else the companies declare unfit for their network, even though it is down right WRONG and I think is illegal (they're bribing congress to make it legal though).

Your ISP could tomorrow say Halomods is a bad site and you would never be able to visit it again. Soon all the companies will merge into one, and then you will have no possible way to go to 'another ISP'. They are promoting monopoly, one of the things the USA was formed to prevent, and destroying a competitive market. Small ISP's can't start up, and stay up. Needless to say, if you don't like what your ISP is doing now, then there will not be any other ISP's to switch to. One company will OWN the internet.

This helps us understand what comes first, but what would you rather have? Video Games or Internet?

lol, but no this is true. The whole world is becoming one BIG AD! In every movie you watch, in every game you play, in every song you listen to, in every site you go to (except this one) there are ads. HALF A FRIGGEN SHOW IS ADS!!! I hope it dosen't get to the point where when you play Halo 6 there will be Coke machines. Or in GTA there will be Dorritos as your main source of food with CJ yelling "Um, Um, Um These Doritos are so good I'd kill for them!".

This isn't about ads. This is about the right to information, the constituional RIGHT to freedom of speech.

Famous quote: "

It's not about who's right in war, it's who's left."

Thisa could either mean It isn't about who is politically correct in war, it's who remains alive after it (which I highly doubt) or "It isn't about who's politically right in war, it's about who's politically left." Politically right, means opinionally right, or left. Whichever it means, it's still a horrible example of what IS right.

The opposite or right is wrong, and what I'm about and what my opinion is about does not adhere to some political agenda, it's about BEING right, and doing what's right for everyone.

Sickening... a little bit of trivia: WalMart and Microsoft when put together make up about 4-5% of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product). 5% may not seem like a lot but you have to realize how freaking huge a company has to be to get that much of the GDP which is up in the trillions of dollars...
