You could drop them from the sky as active scenery and have it so they explode, but have it so a bloc tag comes out with weapons and another pod that just lies on the ground so it looks realistic, if you understand what I'm trying to say

My opinion: I say no to the active scenery unless it can be system linkable. It'd be nice to play you guys over XBC on this map. The moment we add active scenery, multiplayer (except for on a single box) does.

since im not a modeler, and the only good model I found for this didnt work when i tried to inject it... it said "This value is either too low or too high for Lin16"

Maybe it wasnt lin16, but something 16, and basically it didnt work. If anyone cares the one i tried was the Spy Boat from http://www.max-realms.com/

Anyway, I've had a few ideas, and I was going to make my own mod, but I think it would be better to contribute here. Even i just giving suggestions because these all include models, I feel it as contributing. :wink:

Boat
Inject a model for a boat. Duplicate a warthog.vehi, warthog.hlmt, and a vehc with insolence. In the new warthog.vehi, change the model in the dependency to the boat. In the duplicated warthog, change the hlmt to the duplicated one, and in the duplicated vehc change the dependency to the duplicated warthog.

Then, I guess by using a chunk adder (i dont know how to do that, but you could just switch a vehc in the dependencies in the scnr tag to the duplicated one.

Move that vehc so it spawns at the bottom of the water in the corner closest to the normal warthog respawn.

Then using a model sizer, add about 10? (im not sure, just guess and check) to both the Z high and Z low, which will make it float at about the top of the water.

I hope that makes sense, and I hope someone can do it, because I think it would be great.

Chainsaw
Inject a chainsaw model, and duplicate an smg. Also inject a gas tank model and duplicate the smg ammo.eqip(for the ammo for the chainsaw)

Duplicate an smg ammo.hlmt, and for the mode in the dependency change it to the gas tank, and in the duplicated ammo, change the hlmt to the duplicated smg ammo one.

Then duplicate a smg hlmt and a smg projectile. In the duplicated smg hlmt, change the mode dependency to the chainsaw model, and in the smg dependencies change the hlmt to the duplicated one. Also change the proj to the duplicated smg proj, and change the eqip to the gas tank you inject.
Also change the snd to something that somewhat sounds like a chainsaw.

Then, in the duplicate proj, change the life span to 1, max ammo to 100, shots reloaded to 100..basically all of that stuff to 100. Then change the proj per shot to 3.


There you go.

Also I guess you could inject a dagger model, and for the weapon you place it over, make it be "press R for melee" and change the jpt for that weapon to a high damage.

And 1 more thing, if anyone have played 007: Nightfire, they'd know what i mean.

Grapple
Inject a grapple model, and do all the stuff to make a weapon look like that. And then for the proj, have it spawn behind the person and change the force to 10 or 15, so the person goes in the direction he is aiming. Make sure the proj you use can hit yourself, though. I know the battle rifle works.

Also, I'd hope to see a flamethrower.

Horny and killing, I see that you are going to be doing some skins... I've been working on some myself as I was encouraged to do so, and have no intentions on stepping on anybodys' toes. Let me know if there's a way if I can join your skinning partnership. That'd be great.

I'm not quite sure how, but wasn't there some who got SLC with active scene? If we can find out how to do it, the weapons drops would be cool

Also, are we going to try and inject a piece of another level as a model into the water of headlong or what?

Active Scenery can most definitely be SLC compatible. One of the very first mods on Mimesis was by Zenon on Headlong and he had pelicans crashing overhead.

active scenery is SLC yes...its usually the user who stuffs it up by transfering or doing something else to ruin it up...

anyways lets not talk about sigs...
and guess what? no more tests for me for another 12weeks!!! wooo!
so yeah more time for modding...
