Canadian elections are upon us.... who will win... nobody knows....
but the liberals get my vote... even though i cant vote yet >_>

The canadian government is based on the governemnt of the UK, therefore the monarch of the United Kingdom is the canadian formal Head of State - Elizabeth II. The monoarch apon advice of the Prime Minister appoints a Govenernor General to represent the monarch in Canada. The Governor General is appointed for 5 years.
The Prime Minister is the leader of the politcal part with the largest number of elected members in the House of Commons. The Prime Minister is the most powerfull member of Parliment. He appoints elected party members to his Cabinet. The Cabinet creates most of Canada's new laws. Thoose who are appointed to the Cabinet are called Ministers, for example, Minister of the Evironment, these are known as Portfolios. The name of their Portfolio describes their role.
Parliment is made up of the House of Commons and the Cabinet. Inside Parliment there are 301 seats in the House of Commons. The House of Commons represents all Canadians, each seat represents an electorial disctrict or constituency. To represent all Canadians fairly, population forms the number of constituencies. Areas that have more population have more constiuencies.
Canadians who sit in the House of Commons are called Members of Parliment (MPs). Every 4 or 5 years the Prime Minister calls an election and citizens 18 or older are aloud to vote and electe 1 person to represent them in the House of Commons.
The party with the second most votes forms the offical opposition, whos role is to question the governing party.

First off south park is the funniest show on t.v., it takes on every controversial issue and makes it funny

Amen to that. soooo many people that are just complete morons who vote one way becase they have randomly decided to align themselves with that party (even though they hav no fucking CLUE what that party stands for) should not be allowed to shape national policy. what's really scary is the number of idiots who get into violent fights because of their political ignorance.
