EASY SKINNING TUTORIAL

ok im going to tell you how to do it for halo pc. if you want it for halo ce level chose a ce level instead but for a ce level you need the halo map converter.
ok you need paintsho pro or paint, halo map tools, dds plugin or convin (can be found in the files forum), and the halo map converter

1) open hmt then go in your root directory and find your halo ce map that you want your skin for. (this doesnt matter because it automaticly does this for every level). but first back up all your files!.

2) with the hmt go to bitmaps and scroll down to vehicles and chose the vehicle you want to make a skin of bitmap so it looks like vehicles\"your vehicle"\bitmaps.

3) then open it and on the right hit save texture. its a good idea to save it twice in two different folders so one is a back up.

4a) then if your using paint like me then open convin and navigate through to find your dds file on the left side that you saved with hmt. then select bitmaps in the middle bottom and then on the right side navigate to where you want the bitmap to be saved. then hit the convert in the middle bottom.

4b) if you are using paint shop pro then you could just open the dds that you saved with the hmt.

5) then open paint or paint shop proa nd open the bitmap file (if in paint) then edit it to the way you want it.

6a) if you are using paint then after you make your skin and save it open convin and select your paint file and at the middle bottom this time select dds and on the right select where you want to save it.

6b) with paintshop pro then just save it as a dds file.

7) then go back to hmt and select your level again. next select the bitmaps then go down to vehicles and select your vehicle\bitmap.

8() on the right select inject texture and navigate to your new dds file and hit open. save it on the top middle where it says save in the upper right box. then open halo and enjoy!

if i am wrong in anyway please correct me or tell me to be more specific if it is hard to understand

if you're going to make it a tutorial, use bullets or a numerical system of some kind like

1)
2)
3)
etc

what you did was write an essay. perhaps go back and edit it so that it would easily be read and followed?

tutorials should NOT be in paragraph format.
