Peli in Timberland nearly complete
Well, from a general standpoint.
I got to rebuilding the map...but I had no clue what files that I had added so I am working on making a list right now...
If my theory is correct and the rebuild is successful and exception less...we may not only have Mono's pelican in Timberland but in all maps if the same strategy works in all maps.

Ok, latest rebuild had our good friend exception come over for tea...
there are three reasons why this could be happening:
A) I didnt add in all new files (I know this is probably the reason...I tried it without any new files and with just the vehicle files...looks like I have to get all 50 some files names tomorrow)
B) The location from DI got put into the pelican's meta and that location doesnt exist in Timberland.
C) I'm just doing it all wrong...
*EDIT* Nevermind I remember how to get location IDs

Good luck...i tried to put it in bg but you still have to put the pelican models in, thats where i mess up, i take them from DI and put them into bg but the first one doesnt go IN. its so annoying, and the others go in but crash the level entirely...I know its because its trying to put it where the meta says but its not suppose to and all, but i dunno how to fix it..and good luck again
that be kool should make it so u go down on a rope or somthing might be easy to do just change the model of a ladder or somthing then when uget out u can climb down ladder that be tightDemonic Spartan wrote:I personally want to see the Pelican in Infinity with a script that makes it so when you fall out of a Pelican you don't die. Nice to hear you're taking this on after all, tsukasa. No offense but what makes you think Mono's pelican will be any easier to rebuild into other maps than the SP pelican? We still have the issues of the model injection to work past.
Mono completed his mod because he has a special peice of software that only he knows how to use. Until we (a) get our hands on that software or (b) he releases a detailed tutorial on how to do this advanced stuff, I doubt it will possible for us to mimick his creations in any way.

JESUS CHRIST!! Someone should really rewrite the board code and make the fucking login-in screen BEFORE you can hit the post message button...I typed 2 pages at least for a reply to this...
Quick update: New rebuild has exception, going to try to include all files in the batch extract from DI pelican (this latetest I did just Pelican sounds, files, and lifepod files).
VC: In short, I always thought Mono edited/made new XML code for the Library and Pelican. If this is true, the PC models of the pelican should be fixed.
If this next rebuild is unsucessful, im going to try to edit the pelican's location to where the hog would be. If those both fail Im going to attempt to rewrite how HMT batch extracts in full. If that fails, im going to try to hand copy and edit all of the SP pelicans XML and meta.
If all of the above fail...I'll have to wait for the HEK or Mono to release a tut/ his software.

Oh shit...
I was looking in that scnr file and when I went down to the vehicle section all the locations were vehicles\{vehicle name}\{vehicle name_mp}. The Pelican I extracted doesnt have these files.
I have one request for someone out there: try to do a recursive meta extraction from the pelican in DI. This is where I probably f***ed up if you can successfully extract it.
If this comes true, I will try the rewrite of HMT's batch source...which may a very long process of trial and error. If all else fails...HEK is always there
or a tut from mono

.
yea i like that i dea where when u exit the pelican u wont die that would be sweet but wouldnt it be btter when u exit u are on top of pelican and u can surf all the way back down
but how a bout u can attach like a warthog to the magnets on the pelican like in single player that would be even cooler

Mooseman, currently attaching a warthog to the back of the Pelican in Multiplayer is too difficult to accomplish at this time. Oh, and please type legibly. It took me far too long just to decypher your post.
Sooner or later, they WILL find you...
