My First Pistol Model

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Post by mrtikki2 »

Hey guys, yesterday dyer13 showed me his work and i thought i would try to learn how to do it. He has gave me a lot of pointers and taught me a lot, but one thing i dont know how to do is make it look cool.

Here's what i did. I put the pistol in the bottom left, then traced it in individual sections, then i extruded it to give it some depth. After that, I chamfered all the corners...and thats how i did the barrel too. I'm starting to skin it..i think thats what its called..using this UVM unwrapping thing thats linked. Is there an easier way or better way to be doing this?

you have a lot to learn, but you're off to a much better start than most people. good luck. check out katarn's modeling tutorial before attempting the next weapon and getting stuck in a rut.
