Networking help

my pc isn't recognising my xbox is there some reason for that I have insolence serenity smart ftp and a network cable I believe the package said female to female or male to male something like that do I need a different cord or am I missing someting and my network settings on my xbox isn't saving can someone help?

Find the config file, it will be where your dash is, open that and you should be able to save settings, if all else fails. Also, check www.xbox-scene.com they have a networking tutorial.

yeah I have the right ip I have a tutorial that i got from this site. Do i have to have the ip address on my xbox the same as my pc if so how do I find out my ip address for my pc. Also do I have to have a "hard modded" xbox cause I have a soft modded xbox
