Post by SkullzOfZyx »

I downloaded all the tutorials but none of them really tell you where to put stuff like blitzkrieg so i need to know that and how to do that for gmax, I also need to know how to setup everything in the HEK so i can just PSP bitmap, Create in gmax, export, and compile and be ready to go

kthxbai also if you are interested i already made a weird first map but my 3ds max licenese is over so i use gmax now so if u want those 3ds max files just AIM or email me

sorry bout the long time to reply, thanks for the chimp importer, gmax is almost the same as 3ds max but I cannot get the bitmap to show at the bottom of the map, and it is saved as a .tif file from paintshop pro

well, for quite some time when i first started i got frustrated because my ground map kept on dissappearing.

first you need to make a multi-material map. then add your bitmap to one of the marerials. next you need to highlight teh triangles you want to apply this texture to and drag your multi-material onto it. make sure your material id is the same as the texture you want.

heres the tricky part that i finaly found out. if you look just under your modifyer stack there are5 buttons, one looks liek a vial that is half full. press it. vola! it should display while your editing verticies and edges. the oly problem is when you start fooling around with triangles and such, this is when everything goes wonky and the textures look all messed up. dont worry, its some odd problem. when you highlight the triangles, the highlighted ones look normal but the others are, as i said, wonky.

jsut ask if this is confusing... its oly 10:00 pm...
