Ok i have been trying hard to get my skins to work but they dont show up. I am trying to make the golden warthog for HALO PC. NOT HALO 2. I have been following the tutorial that is called like "making and aplying skins" I did every thing the guy did I saved it like he did I used photo shop like he did I injected it like he did, and the little image of the warthog I want was over on the right side like it should after I inject it. I save the map and the copy it into halo where it should be in the maps file. I go into the game and it is the same old green warthog. any help would be appreciated. Yes I have modded halo pc so I do know where to put the maps once I save them.
Thanks

i know I have back up maps to replace them all. and I just copy the one I mod and it is called bloodgulch.map and I brig it to the maps folder in halo and It overites it, It says do you want to replace bloodgulch.map 13.7 mb for bloodgulch.map 13.7 mb. I know I am doing that right it just my skins dont show up in game yet when I inect them into hmt it shows them to the right side of hmt. but dosent appear in game.... at one point in time when I would try different things on the nvida part when you save it my warthog had all sorts of horizantal lines. but still havent figured out why my skin wont show up...

Ok...
Follow these steps exactly...
1. Open up Bloodgulch.map in Halo Mapping Tools.. Make sure you use the map in the Halo PC route directory "Start> My Computer> C: > Programe Files> Microsoft Games> Halo> MAPS"
2. Inject your texture into the warthog as you normaly do
3. Click save
4. Exit the Halo Mapping Tools...
5. DO NOTHING AT ALL!!!
What you are doing wrong is replacing the new map with the old one.. So when you replace it you get the old hog back..
********DO NOT REPLACE THE NEW MAP WITH THE OLD*******
Just inject the texture, save, exit and play.. Nothing else..
If you still get problems then send me a private message.,..
Also.. The Warthog skin has to be saved as a DXT1... The only things that need to be saved as DXT3 are things such as reflective skins (i think)
But as i said before..
OPen your map in HMT... Inject your DXT1 texture into it, save it, exit HMT and run the game.. Also you're not wanting to use your backup map as the skin.. Use the primary route map in the Halo MAP folder on your C: drive ok?
Hope this helps..
