warthog turrets problem!!

I have the right plugin for this and i did make evry right but how do i make the body and wheels disapear????

i know there's a tut out there somewhere
look for a bit then come back
probably in the skinning and modeling forum
a few pages back...
EDIT: or i think you could just delete the bitmaps for everything but the wheels right? try it and see... im gunna go experiment now

No you replace them with transparent ones, like the glass or ice bitmaps.

that doesnt work because the meters in the vehicle are still there

I have the tut on my other PC. I'll copy and paste it tonight. It comes with new models for the warthog that I believe have been modified to make the hog so small its unnoticable. So you can wait for me to post it back up, or you can try to smoosh the models on your own.

under [bitm] Bitmaps copy the meta number for .. powerups\active camoflage\bitmaps\camoflage

now for all of these values below, replace their vaule with the active camo one:

under [bitm] Bitmaps
vehicles\warthog\bitmaps\meter sensor
vehicles\warthog\bitmaps\meter speedometer
now ur done with the bitmaps

now to [sgla] Shader Glass
vehicles\warthog\shaders\warthog windshield

now [smet]shader metal
vehicles\warthog\shaders\meter engine
vehicles\warthog\shaders\meter speedometer

now [soso] Shader Model
vehicles\warthog\shaders\decal buttons
vehicles\warthog\shaders\decal sensor
vehicles\warthog\shaders\warthog hull
vehicles\warthog\shaders\warthog tires

now [schi] shader transparancy variant
vehicles\warthog\shaders\decal speedometer
vehicles\warthog\shaders\decal velocity
vehicles\warthog\shaders\meter sensor


now you have an invisble hog, all but the turret.

now go HERE for the collision model plugin. go under [coll] Collision Model and select the hog. turn off all but 1 and 8.


there is a vech.xml plugin somewhere that has "kill physics," "Kill Antenna," and "Lower Turret to FLoor" buttons. (if i find a link ill post it here, or i can send)
go under [vech] Vehicles hit those buttons.
then select seat 0
change W-driver to wraith-driver
do the same for seat 1


now you're done, just place with sparkedit

This is the tutorial that I have. It also has the plugins and the models that you need....I downloaded it from here originally. It was on the right side ina banner ad. Anyway, here is the tutorial, I can send you the zip to your email if you want....
CLuis's Turret Mod Tutorial

INSTALL THE CUSTOM PLUGINS I MADE INTO HMT 3

WARNING: IF YOU ARE A N00B DON'T ATTEMPT THIS

These Steps are pretty simple.........

1) Open your FRESHLY MADE cache***.map

2) Pick a piece a scenery that you want to replace with turrets (if the map doesnt already have vehicles, or if you want to add more)

3) You can add more of that scenery later with tjc2k4's new scenario plugin.

Step #3 If you do add more vehicles or scenery with the plugin your gonna have to use SparkEdit to move the new ones.

4) Inject the included Warthog models where they are appropriate. Like replace Hull(0) with Hull(0) etc...

5) Swap the Scenery's Model with that of the Warthog Model (Can be done in HMT by swapping model meta)

Step #5 allows you to view to model in SparkEdit its not necessary

6) Now using the collision plugin I made edit the collision on the hog so that everything related to the gun keeps
collision and everything else doesnt. The Frame Chain can either be off or on. I have it off.

7) Now goto the Vehicle section in HMT. Select the Warthog. Change the ID to a turret. Select Seat #0 and erase its name.
Do the same for Seat #1.

8) Select the options "Kill Physics", "Kill Antenna", and "Lower to Floor"

9) After that If you plan on switching the scenery to become the turret u need to follow a scenery to vehicle tut, theres tuts on that everywhere.

10) If you did switch the scenery to the Turret then i suggest u switch that scenery's model to that of the warthog (Do it with HMT)
This is so u can see it in SparkEdit 2.5 . :)

11) Now go place your turrets where you want them with SparkEdit!

12) Have Fun If you have questions just put them in the post at the X-S forums.

Im not gonna include contact info because i dont want to be flooded by n00bs.

If you are in HMT3, under the PCmodels section, find the warthog and click on it. On the right, you will see a window with several different models there. warthog(0), warthog(1), something like that. Click on each one, then click on the "inject" button just below the window there on the left. Browse to the equally named model that came with the tutorial and click save. That should be it....

I do, try going into the HMT forums to the sticky thread about plugins, look down aways and there is a link to get it.
