please help me-modding

hi i guess im new here ive been trying to mod Halo through SirLuke's waktrough it doesnt work i got to the part with opening the Hex Editor i guess the map file and the offset list and everything isnt linked i have no idea and im (gasp) about to give up. please help me!

Just replace the value of what you want to change with the value of what you want to change it to.
