how to do a poly count in 3ds max??

how do you do a ploy count in 3ds max to find how many polys your model is?
btw: whats the max ploy count for halo ce on a gun?

any help is appriciated :wink:

i believe u press 7 and that counts all the faces then divide that by 2 to give u an estimate about how many polys there are. or u can jsut convert to an editable poly and select all the faces.

and i say the maximum amount of polys in a gun for ce should stay around the 1300.

lol haha your way off, go to your utilities section (the hammer) and click the more button, its alphabetized, go to the utility named pollygon counter. doubble click that and there ya go.

That just gives you the same number as when you press 7.

Well but you don't have to divide 3 and you can set a budget and so on

go to file>file properties>and look for "Faces" (With no quotes) and faces is the same as polys you can also go to file> file summary and its at the top
