calling all halo pc sound modders!

Post by [cc]z@nd! »

i've been wondering this for a long time, and know that for some mods, the sounds have to be messed with, replaced, or removed, but i'm wondering if there's anyone here who can actually do this.

as far as i know, there isn't anyone, but i have played mods from here that have edited sounds.

if you do/can edit sounds for use in a halo pc mod, please tell me, i'll need one very soon for some help, and i don't think i can learn on my own.

i don't want to add a song in or anything, i'd like to edit the ghost and banshee sounds (and others if i have to) with an actual sound editor.

for example, the ghost's engine sound now, sounds like a humming....thing, and i need to edit the sound (splice in a sound?) to make it sound like it's actually pushing around air, like a fan. and the banshee changed to sound like a jet, but i don't know where to go other than the sound converter! :x

1. Extract the sound.

2. Convert it from OGG to WAV/MP3/Whatever.

3. You have to convert the Hz of the soundfile. There should be a program for that in the files forum... I think.

4. Fire away to edit your sound in what editor you want.

5.Convert it back to the good Hz.

6. Convert it back to OGG.

Inject it into Halo.

Congratz, you just made your own sound for Halo ^_^

SO which file has all the music in it, or is it just all maps have all the music in the files?

for one thing, instead of quoting urself, you can just hit 'post reply'.
for another thing, double-posting is annyoing, so plz avoid doing it as much as possible (instead edit ur posts)
third of all, u can just find a way to convert from .mp3 (or watever), then import it into the map

try using audacity after you have the sounds extracted...oyu can do so much with it, check on downloads.com...I use audacity to see wut some songs would sound like if they were faster, different pitches etc. It can also be used to record sound!
