IVE BEEN TRYING FOR A MONTH, PLEAS HELP WITH MOD!

This may seem like a simple mod to most of you, but I am finding it harder then heck to get this to work. I wish to mod Ascension and to make my plasma pistol shoot out bridges. I heard that its supposed to shoot out the spinny thing in the middle, but I dont know what its located under. i thougth I had it a few times but my map just freezed when i tried to shoot it out. Please help, anyone? Its been a month of trying and still no luck! I am desperate!
