Ok thank you for helping me cope with my inability to read.Aequitas wrote:adam07 wrote:Umm ok so I pathed this to lockout and checked Add To Mainmenu or whatever and it showed up in the mainmenu but failed to load. Both maps were clean.Aequitas wrote:Its built into the Serenity patch. In the Serenity "Setup" tab, setup your map folder that has the mainmenu that you want to patch. Then make sure you have the "Use Main Menu" checkbox selected when applying the patch. Fix the encryptomatic signature on your new cassiopeia.map and upload it along with mainmenu.map to your maps folder on your xbox. Enjoy.
[Map] Black-Ops: Cassiopeia
Sig too big
They're from the future and have fancy helmets, what d'ya want?
No, but that was the best way I found to do it... So, either like that or no night vision at all...

Can I use this map as a replacement for Lockout, and play other's on xlink? Or does it not work that way? If not, would it be possible to make a version without the ODST character, so we can use this as a 'skin' for Lockout?
The sticky bombs seem a little out of place on this map, but everything else is awesome. I like how firing a gun or a grenade exploding lights up your surroundings. Also the way the sniper rifle turns the screen green when you're not zoomed in is odd, but if there's no way around that, then it's better than not having night vision.
One other question: What was the limitation with regards to the magnum?
One other request: Can you put the Brute Shot where the sword used to spawn? I know this conflicts with the request that this be a Lockout skin, but just thought that would be a good idea as it's not really a plasma weapon.
Thanks for making such a great mod. I agree that it's nice to see an Insolence mod that isn't just a bunch of SP stuff thrown in an MP map, but well done mods take time, and Insolence is still new. I think in time there'll be more quality stuff like Cassiopeia.

You'd be at a pretty big disadvantage, so I don't know why you'd want to... But, should work fine. If you host, the new weapon spawns will be in effect for everyone.mterlouw wrote:Can I use this map as a replacement for Lockout, and play other's on xlink? Or does it not work that way? I doubled the damage and it still took 13 shots for a kill, a result of the auto-update. So I just set it back to normal and didn't mess with it again... Part of being sick of modding. If I ever make a v1.1, the magnum will be beefed up.mterlouw wrote:One other question: What was the limitation with regards to the magnum?

Thanks for the fast reply, Aequitas. I'll give it a shot the next time I'm on xlink. I don't think the disadvantage would bother me. I've practically memorized the map; most of the good maneuvers are blind leaps of faith anyway. It will be harder to see others, but I'm not the greatest player so I don't really count on winning anything. It's just fun to kill people, and this map lets me do it in style.Aequitas wrote:You'd be at a pretty big disadvantage, so I don't know why you'd want to... But, should work fine. The main thing I was worried about was something you mentioned in the previous thread about "hit boxes". I think you said that headshots worked differently or something. Did you ever find a solution to that?

Hitboxes should be close to 100%. I find it harder to get a headshot on an ODST compared to a spartan or an elite... But if it registers as a body/headshot on your xbox, it should count as a body/headshot on the host's box.
EDIT: mterlouw- I just remembered that I have duel-wielding disabled on all weapons, another kink in the x-link plan.

I didn't replace the MC because I wanted the map to have full functionality... The ODSTs are missing certain animations which can hamper certain games/gametypes. For instance, they lack the animations for holding the flag, bomb, and oddball... Their grenade throw animation is also particularly long, but I feel that being somewhat harder to hit balances that out...
