Walk-through scenery... ?

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Walk-through scenery... ?

Post by AsiNisiMasa »

For some reason some of the scenery in my map can be walked, driven, shot, or grenaded right though. I'd xpect this from things like shrubs, but it occured to every instance of some larger trees as well. In particular, something like tree_leafy_medium, some gnarled one, and tree_leafycover_doublewide.

Any ideas how to fix this? I know how to just change the type of all of them at once, but I like the way these work as cover.

to further complete patrick's answer:

A collision model, while a model determines the visual shape of the object, a collision model details the physical shape of the model.

Without a collision model, there is nothing to run into, you are running through thin air that looks like a tree.

Oh, I see, but I didn't model these myself. These are some of the ones that came with Halo CE. I'm not supposed to set the collision in Sapien am I?

you have to make a collision in 3ds max.You can copy the mymodel\model jms file into the folder mymodel\physics folder and then type in tool:
tool collision-geometry mymodel
...left for good
