Half Life 2

Post by ExileLord »

Well its been out for a while now but I just saw this forum and decided I had to make the second topic in here and also I am bored because its 10:00 and I have nothing to do.

Half Life 2 is by far the best game I ever played. The story line was awesome unlike Halo 2's story line. The graphics and effects were amazing. The physics of the game were god like. I mean the gravity gun was one of the coolest tolls in the game. You could take grab a chair and hurl it at a guy. Or you can fire a gravity shock burst thingy at a saw blade and slice a zombie in half. And they actually do get sliced in half. Sometimes they crawl with their arms after being cut in half.

Not only that but they also made programmable mods for the game so modding can be easily done if you know C++ (i think thats the language used)

Well if you have any comments please post them :)

HalfLife 2 Deathmatch is amazing. So many possibilities. Also, Gravity Gun wars are what make the game fun.

Also, I have never (if not rarely) recieved lag online in multiplayer games. Steam does an amazing job hosting.

i agree. steam rules. and so does the source engine. half life 2 doesnt run that well on my pc, bad framerate or w.e. but i can still apreciate the awesomess.

at the moment im using the sdk to create a couple of maps. its so easy to get to grips with.

ps: i love the source engine and the physics. the blood splatters r0x mY s0X.

I suggest getting the maps:

dm_Pit2
dm_Abandoned factory

abandoned factory is the best for a gravity gun war. small, has saws, tubs, radiators...perfect

Pit2 is one of my favorite trap maps.

I need to get this game. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for HL mapping.

HALF-LIFE 2 OWNS!! I like taking cans and throwing them at those weird people with the masks. I have beaten the game 3 times already and still have fun owning. I am on deathmatch when I am not practicing my graphics. It owns that is all I can say about this game other than, IT IS BETTER THAN HALO 2!!

HL1 is just amazing. It's the only reason why I started modding 3d games. The map maker is just so easy to use and the mod format is too. Not to mention the game had an emersive story (unlike Halo2 or Halflife2, Halo1 did to an extent, but not nearly as much as HL1). Not to mention all the addons like Blue Shift and Opposing Force were really nice. I really want to play it on the updated engine, but I'm broke and job searching.
