HEX EDITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all. I'm new to animation triggers, and I'm going to attempt a tricky first one. I'm going to make MC jump over the warthog bar and land in the seat. Pretty pimped. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I need a hex editor to change the animation for entering the warthog. Can someone give me a link to a good hex editor tut that will explain exactly how to animate his jump? Would I have to position MC in the right spot frame by frame, so it all plays when you enter the hog and looks like hes jumping into it? Sorry, I couldn't find a good topic using Search.
