Saintopia, a map I wished I could make.

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

I cant get it ingame, dont have hek. And just check the announcement forum about the avatar, all you do is go to your profile and find an image on the net which is not too big and stick it in.

This project looks really cool, and I'd like to help as best I can....

I have little to no experience in 3d graphics though, but I'd like to help, I think I'll work on the bridge for right now if that's alright?

I'll show you guys what I've got later today, and then you can.. help me out with it considering my lack of skills with this....

Alright got a little bit of stuff done, I had to keep messing with it to try and get it better just so my first 3d image wouldn't be completely crappy...

There's still alot of stuff I need to do, like textures and stuff, plus I'm wondering how you guys suggest I do rails, if any at all are necessary, up to guys, I'll try my best to do what you want... And I can try and put holes in the wood if necessary, I went for a curved, slanted type bridge and this is what it looks like so far:

Side View:

Front View:

Overhead View:

Is hte angle to much or not enough? And I repeat again, it's far from finished, I just wanted a little feedback, and wondering if I was doing it to suit your guys fancy... And what about the length?

I would do rails by lofting some splines, then you could re use the spline to create an animation path if you wanted. And if you press P in the viewport you took the screenshots in, you will get a better screen shot. If you are using 3ds max then press f9 and you take a render.

I'm using gmax, and... you may have forgotten I was new to this, maybe not I don't know... But either way I don't know about animation paths... CAre to explain it to me?

Maybe there's a plug-in or something?

I'll look later for one...

And I got handrails, I found some decent textures, but I don't understand how to use them on this program... There's still a couple things I want to do and then I'll hand it over for you guys if I can find some plugin for gmax to let it export to a better filetype than the one it does....

The version I downloaded can export as a .P3D, is max3d able to work with that filetype...?

You can get an md3 or obj, but i qutie like md3 exporter for gmax and the md3 importer for 3dsm.
