since this thread is about modeling, maybe someone can send Katarn a tutorial on rendering (if he doesn't make one himself) even if it is a video and he can post it at the bottom of the original post saying who made it.

Bah...i was thinking on doing that....but i will really only use it for rendering probably...can it open 3ds max 6 files?

My 3ds max 6 is a one year user license thingy..so i actually paid for a year hehe

I'm proud taht i'm not a pirate..r

Nice stuff.

What techniques do you use to add minor details? Do you add details after creating the base of the weapon, or do you add them in while creating it with the use of insert vertex tools and such? If after, how do you do it?

This is one of the few things I'm finding difficult. I know of various ways to add details, but I'm not sure which one is the best.

:D Thanks for the guide. I will also be checking out that plane modeling tutorial, it looks great.

Nice tut dude.

But really i cant understand all that stuff you were talking about.

Not your fault its my fault cozi am not that smart at all this polyguns and stuff... but really i need to find some vid tuts on how to make some models... can anyone show me how to put my own models in CE please???

To make the gun? he used 3ds max 6 or 7 probably. Photoshop is for 2d graphics, for the skin you might use photoshop.

max 7. Photoshop/psp are good for making skins, texporter for exporting uv maps.

Press 'M' that brings up the material editor (hotkey)
