If you've ever played any games where you create your own theme parks, or if you've ever played Age Of Empires, you know that they are fun games and are pretty easy to use... so what about a Halo Creator Game? Like you would have pre-selected buildings, and trees, and flag places? So if you would like to start a program w/ me, that would be cool!

I think creating something like that would just take too long and it would be WAY to hard. But it would be cool to see one.

all you have to do is make custom scenery and have 3dsmax or gmax or you can make your own 3d program but that would take for ever

It's not that hard to create a program like that. I got a book that teaches me how to make my own level editor, but its for source games only.


However, get your hands on the Warcraft 3 World Editor source and combine it with the tag files from halo (in a compressed folder) then create a parser for the tags and BAM! You have yourself a Halo Level Editor that can place, modify, and do anything with Halo bipeds or vehicle, and place them on the map.

Sapien is exactly like that...actually. You select the files from the directory, and populate them using vegetation structures, (scenery), portals, etc.
You place everything, modify details, and more.

Hmmm, now there's NO halo editing kit now is there? Sapien was just a dream, guerilla doesn't exist that's just the voices in my head... and tool doesnt exist either! My my my, HMT was just a nightmare!!! well NONE of this stuff exists so lets all get rallied by someone who doesn't know how to program to do all this!!!

Stop your smelling and think for a second. Sapien doesn't have premade bases and buildings. And also, since when is sapien a terrain editor?

yah umm i dunno bout you guys but the first thing that i thought of when i heard about the H.E.K was the sims and how cool it would be if the H.E.K was something like that, how easy it would be to create levels. obviously i was rudely mistaken but i still think it would be awesome if it was done.

oh yes and i too would like to know when sapien became a terrain editor?

In the Sims or Warcraft can you create a base with precise angles, or easily create custom geometry? I far prefer max for terrain design, because you have more control. I would think the program to make would be a max plugin that assists in the creation of geometry for Halo. Due to the way that Halo has it's data structured, Sapien can't be a terrain editor; a good thing in my opinion.

well im back again and i see some morons have posted here.

-my dad works at raytheon and is a lets see here PROGRAM MANAGER

- HEK and stuff dosent have premade bases, flagpoints, spawnpoints, and the stuff they do is not easy for a new modder

Premade spawn points and bases? lol, just download bases off of modelling sites, theres a lot of them if you REALLY want to not make your own. And spawn points... dude.... they are all the same, why do you want premade ones? Halo maps are way to complicated to generate spawn points via pathfinding; the strategy is erased. You'd have to start placing zones in your .max, and it's just more complicated... if you don't have the strategic ability to simply place spawn points, then it's not going to be a very fun map, in almost every aspect.

And for those who want to see a map of mine, keep your eyes open for a movie posted by me.
